She was born in Sligo, Pennsylvania on May 25,1934, daughter of the late Clarence and Ruby Siehl. She graduated from Sligo High and received a BBA from Westminster College. She greatly enjoyed her time at Westminster living at the Thompson house with her Alpha Gamma Delta sisters\n\nNancy bravely faced the significant changes presented to her by Alzheimer’s disease, and although her ability to communicate declined, her love of family, friends, and her companion cat, Franny, always showed through. She greatly missed her husband, Ron, when he entered his eternal rest in the spring of 2024. They had been married for 64 years.\n\nNancy was a high school teacher in the Pittsburg area before marriage, and an adjunct professor at Montgomery College, Rockville, Maryland while raising her family. As an empty nester, she used her administrative skills at a position that supported the VP of Clinical Research for Boehringer Mannheim Pharmaceuticals, a job she really enjoyed and found fascinating.\n\nAlthough happy in the work force, Nancy considered her most important achievement to be raising her family at home for 25 years and watching them become successful loving adults with careers and families of their own. She adored all 9 of her grandchildren and lived to see two great grandchildren and the marriage of her eldest granddaughter.\n\nNancy and Ron greatly enjoyed their involvement with Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church.\nThey were active participants in the senior VIPS group through which they volunteered in the community, especially at the local soup kitchen. They also participated in service trips, including one assisting those impacted by Hurricane Katrina. They formed many deep friendships and loved their church community.\n\nNancy had a spirit of adventure and loved to travel. This began with a trip to Europe with a group of girlfriends before she was married. They traveled over by boat, bought a car, and visited many counties. That was bold for her time! She shared that love of travel with her husband, Ron, and together they traveled much of the world enjoying other cultures and experiences while always bringing back a much-treasured gift for each grandchild.\n\nNancy will be remembered for her enduring friendships, delight in travel, hospitality, outstanding organization (a blessing to many), and faithful service to others for her Lord. Her children will remember her as an exceptional grandparent who always planned fun and enriching experiences to share with her grandchildren. She modeled grandparenting well for us, and we can only hope to emulate her.\n\nShe will be deeply missed by her children Judy Paulson (Walt), Doug Foulds (Jodi), Kathy Foulds (Ben), and grandchildren Andy, Abby (Isaac), Kelsey, Jonathan, David (Rachel), Ava, Chloe, Natalie, Leah, and great grandchildren Emery and Yarik."}},"city":"Cary","county":"Wake","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"01/10/2025","age":90,"user_updated":true,"image":{"localFile":{"publicURL":"/static/1e794a8f721b37a85384f0234fb422c1/object_Object_56e7a31397.jpeg"}}}},{"node":{"id":"93f5011e-ceb9-5f1a-b851-39381c02d741","slug":"2025-01-10-William-Burrow","name":"William Burrow","content":{"data":{"content":""}},"city":"Raleigh","county":"Wake","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"01/10/2025","age":60,"user_updated":false,"image":null}},{"node":{"id":"bf5b4a8c-f7de-5b34-ac97-69a0b8126e18","slug":"article-567","name":"Brenda Ward","content":{"data":{"content":"Brenda Ann Patrick Ward was born on July 30th, 1958 to the late Nixie Clifton Patrick and Clarence Lee Patrick, and grew up in Creswell, North Carolina with her six siblings. Born on October 5th 1970. She was a vibrant spirit with a deep love and unwavering passion for family and friends.\n\nSharon was a cherished sister to Vernon Hess and Gary Hess, and sister-in-law to Martha and Julia. She held a special place in her heart for her nieces Audrey and Katrina, and was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Wanda and George Hess.\n\nHer greatest joy came from her two daughters, Elizabeth Bolick, her oldest, and Natalie Bolick, her youngest. She loved them fiercely, nurturing them with kindness and warmth during the short time that they shared, demonstrating a love that knew no bounds.\n\nThroughout her life, Sharon formed meaningful connections with many wonderful people, and lived in many different parts of the triangle area. One of these places was her childhood home that she was very fond of, and she made many unforgettable memories there. She grew up on Radcliffe Road, and had several friends and neighbors that grew up by her side and watched her develop into a beautiful soul. Some of the particularly wonderful people that she met in her later years of life are her close friends from Seven Mark Church. Her best friends, Rochelle and Ilka, were a source of support and love. The pastors of Seven Mark Church often prayed for her, visiting the Raleigh Inn to hold her in their thoughts and prayers.\n\nDespite facing her own battles, Sharon remained a firm believer in Jesus. Her faith shone brightly in the darkness, reminding us all of the importance of love, acceptance, and compassion. She was kind-hearted and often helped those in need, even when she had little to give.\n\nMusic was a significant part of Sharon’s life; she found joy in rock, country, pop, and Christian music, using it as a reminder for the beautiful moments she created with her loved ones.\n\nAs we say see you later but never goodbye, we hold onto the memories of her laughter, her love, and her unwavering spirit. Sharon will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. In her honor, let us continue to spread kindness, love, and faith, just as she did throughout her life.\n\nA memorial service will be held on January 17th, 2025 at Seven Marks Church 3500 Spring Forest Rd, Raleigh, NC 27616 to celebrate her life and legacy.\n\nRest in peace, We love you forever."}},"city":"Raleigh","county":"Wake","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"01/07/2025","age":54,"user_updated":true,"image":{"localFile":{"publicURL":"/static/c976a286e661d4afae1641698f2df1f0/object_Object_d1e0e68f3f.jpeg"}}}},{"node":{"id":"8dc444e3-47a8-52d6-a40a-6743626bbdbf","slug":"2025-01-07-Sandra-Holligan","name":"Sandra Holligan","content":{"data":{"content":""}},"city":"Rockingham","county":"Richmond","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"01/07/2025","age":66,"user_updated":false,"image":null}},{"node":{"id":"82db666d-9702-516b-ba44-0cf501d4af70","slug":"2025-01-06-Maria-DeVilliers","name":"Maria DeVilliers","content":{"data":{"content":""}},"city":"Morrisville","county":"Wake","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"01/06/2025","age":95,"user_updated":false,"image":null}},{"node":{"id":"afc647d8-cc99-5d34-97e6-afab0c91aaa8","slug":"2025-01-06-Dolores-Stone","name":"Dolores Stone","content":{"data":{"content":""}},"city":"Raleigh","county":"Wake","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"01/06/2025","age":90,"user_updated":false,"image":null}},{"node":{"id":"50329d6f-c8e4-5358-84b9-45ff787462db","slug":"2025-01-06-Geraldine-Gillett","name":"Geraldine Gillett","content":{"data":{"content":""}},"city":"Raleigh","county":"Wake","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"01/06/2025","age":85,"user_updated":false,"image":null}},{"node":{"id":"93eadeea-4121-58d6-9787-59771aa63a48","slug":"article-566","name":"Mary Louise Gower","content":{"data":{"content":"Mary Louise Gower was born on 2/11/1948 in Durham, NC. to Clarence and Mary Wilkin.
