Mother,  Susan (Craig) Bailey, brother Cody Davis, sister Jillian \"Jill\" Davis and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.\n\nBB loved her family and had many friends, She was known for her radiant smile and sense of humor that would always make you laugh, was a talented gardener and landscaper, and loved the beauty of her efforts. He was a descendent of German immigrants, his father a Pennsylvania coalminer. Norman was a long-time resident of Raleigh. Born in Scranton, PA, he joined the Navy and served on submarines in World War II and on the Battleship Iowa in the Korean War. He married Anna Mae Holmes and fathered five children: Gerry Wiesel (wife Gretchen, deceased), Margaret Head (husband, James), Sharon Griffin (husband, Tom), Tina Jackson (husband, Ricky), and Cynthia Peeler (husband, Stamey). He was employed by IBM in Endicott, NY, and retired from IBM at Research Triangle North Carolina in 1989. After the passing of his wife Anna Mae, in 1967, Norman later married Emma Newkirk in 1969, welcoming Emma’s children: Al Newkirk, Gene Newkirk (wife Dawn), Emily Newkirk, and Angela Krappl to the family. Norman was a brilliant, kind, loving man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was also an auto mechanic, electrician, plumber, and computer expert. Anything that broke, Norman could fix. His hobbies were computer-oriented efforts, woodworking in his shop, and fishing. Among his woodworking efforts, his favorite product was different kinds of birdhouses. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed trips to the North Carolina coast. Norman loved to eat and enjoyed cooking. One of his favorite family times was spent on the back deck for a Barbeque. He was a humble man, not boastful, or ostentatious. He is survived by wife, Emma, their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. The world has lost a gentle man that will be sorely missed. Glenna is survived by her brother Bradley Grubb and her uncles, Larry Allen, Roger Allen, and Bill Allen.\n\nGlenna is predeceased by her mother Carol Sweeny, her daughter Rebecca Lee Halstead and granddaughter Mercedes Jada-Marie Halstead. She is also predeceased by her uncle Donald “Doc” Allen. \n\nA small, family and close friends only service will be held in Wendell, North Carolina on July 1, 2023. Glenna’s life will be celebrated with Christmas in July.\n\nGlenna was known as an adoring grandmother, an avid crafter, and a lover of all things Christmas. She was an outgoing and friendly neighbor and friend. She was known to have “never met a stranger” and could spark conversation with anyone. In his down time before retiring as an electrician, he enjoyed camping at the beach, Atlantic and Kure being his favorite spots, fishing at Panther Lake, grilling on the back porch and having Sunday get togethers with family for a cook out and watching NASCAR.\n\nHe is survived by his daughters Crystal A. Judy was married to Vernon Bregler from 1961 until his death in 2020.\n\nShe is survived by her daughters Kimberle Adamof (John) and Maria Gray (Fredrick), and their respective families, her sister-in-law Dena Praul-Gentner, along with many nieces and nephews.\nPreceded in death were her brother, George A. He is survived by his immediate family as well as his parents Sonja Wright and Claude “Bill” Wright (DeEtte), his brother Tracy Wright (Aaron), and his sister Dare Williams (Trevor). \n\nThe family will receive visitors on Monday, May 22, 2023 from 12-2 at Lifepointe Christian Church (8841 Richmond Road, Toano, VA 23168). They raised their children with love and devotion and settled in Raleigh, NC in 1981. \n\nRita was known for her gentle nature and bright smile. She had numerous friends and enjoyed entertaining and hosting gatherings for her loved ones and those dear to her heart. Rita worked for several years in different companies as well as 16 years at Kmart where she was a point of sales specialist in the office. Her hobbies included cooking, doing puzzles, and reading books. She loved the beach and enjoyed watching science fiction movies. Rita was a wonderful mother and loving grandmother who protected and valued family.\n\nRita is preceded in death by her mother Alice Alves Lopes and her father Alfred Lopes. She is remembered by her husband, John Richards Petelle; her daughter Christina and her husband Joseph; her daughter Aimee; six grandchildren: Isabella Delaney Deatherage, Kayla Morgan Deatherage, Sarah Marie Angott, Alexander Alton Norris, Andrew John Norris, and Olivia Paige Norris as well as one great-grandson, Riley Gerald Fraser. \n \nFond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at City of Oaks Cremations, LLC 4900 Green Road, Raleigh NC 27616.
