He was born on September 27, 1957, at Fort Belvoir, Virgina to Patricia (Ann) and Harry III (Sonny) Bullis. The first-born son of a military service member,  Harry grew up on various Air Force bases across the United States and in Okinawa before moving back to Virginia upon his father’s retirement.\nHarry leaves behind many who will miss and remember him. He is survived by his son, Harry Spencer Bullis V and three grandchildren Jessica, Ethan, and Faith of Fitchburg, Massachusetts.  He is survived by his father, Harry Spencer Bullis III of Gordonsville, Virginia; his brothers Larry (Kathy) Bullis of Dunnsville, Virginia;  Gary (Carolyn) Bullis of Mount Holly, Virginia;  a sister Mary (Bryan) Childress of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Harry also leaves his sister-in-law, Debby (David) Barnes of Pikeville, North Carolina; and brother-in-law, Robert (Carolyn) Gilliam of Montross, Virginia.  Harry had many nieces, nephews, and cousins who will remember him fondly and was especially close to Brandy (Jay) Serrano and sons Bubba, Brandon, London, and Oscar of Pikeville, North Carolina.\nHarry was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Janice Gilliam Bullis and his mother Patricia Ann Bullis. Both will be welcoming him to Heaven with open arms which fills his family’s hearts with bittersweet gratitude.\nHarry was a kind person with an enormous heart. He was very intelligent but also artistic. He participated in theater and the arts in high school and throughout the years. His most memorable plays were  Annie Get Your Gun, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and The Christmas Story.  In true ‘Air Force Brat’ fashion, Harry enlisted and served in the Air Force. He raised his son in the Northern Neck area of Virginia and met and married Janice there as well. They lived in Mendon, Massachusetts for several years before moving to North Carolina, where they lived in Asheville before settling in Fayetteville, where he recently retired.  Harry was a charter member of the Montross Moose Lodge. \nHarry had a smile that reached his bright blue eyes and could light up the whole room. He will be forever missed. Until we meet again.\nA celebration of his life will be held on July 16th in Mount Holly, Virginia with details being announced later. There will be time for sharing stories of Harry, and fellowship after.\nThe family would like to thank all our family and friends for their support and prayers. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Military Family (P.O. Box 238, Firestone, CO 80520) who helped advocate for Harry during his illness. Barbara was born on September 25, 1938, to the late Joseph and Lorene Gregory in Reidsville, NC. \nBarbara was an intelligent woman who early in her career became a registered nurse, practicing in Richmond, VA until stepping away from nursing to raise her two children.  She later returned to the workforce as a real estate broker.  She enjoyed a long, successful career in Raleigh and Greensboro.  Additionally, she obtained her General Contractors license, of which she was quite proud.\nBarbara was involved in her community in numerous ways, serving with the NC Jaycees, United Methodist Women, Wake County Republican Women, and the NC Association of Realtors.  She also served as a docent at the Governor’s mansion.  \nKnown as “Nana” to her family, she loved her parents, children, and grandchildren.  She was the happiest preparing elaborate meals for and hosting her family.  She was a voracious reader and enjoyed discussing politics with anyone.  Decorating her home for Christmas, gardening, traveling to Colonial Williamsburg and the NC coast were some of her favorite activities.  \nBarbara is survived by her son Greg Weaver (wife Susan) of Raleigh, and daughter Susan Weaver (spouse Rebecca Saulnier) of Raleigh.  She is also survived by granddaughter Carly Weaver Price (husband Duncan) of Raleigh and grandson Davis Weaver of Spartanburg, SC.  Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Phil Gregory. \nThe family appreciates the care provided to our mother by Audrey Perry and Annette Strickland.  \nA Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church on Friday, June 23, at 11:00 AM. She will be sorely missed by all her friends and family.
