Galati","content":{"data":{"content":"Sal Galati, 79, a long-time resident of Raleigh, recently passed away peacefully at home following declining health. Son, grandson, nephew , brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend… he experienced extraordinary pain, joy, and beauty in his life.\nSal had a generous personality, an infectious laugh, and a killer smile… he made friends everywhere he went. He enjoyed singing, traveling and loved to cook, especially Italian. He was known for his lack of patience, and was never guilty of holding back his opinion. The way he died is just like he lived: he wrote his own rules, he fought authority, and he paved his own way. And if you said he couldn’t do it, he would find a way to make sure he could. He also took pride in his military service; he was a proud patriot and Army veteran.\nSal is survived by Connie, his loving wife of 41 years; children Mark (Brenda), Paul and Vanessa; sisters Rosalie (Joe) and Annette (Maureen); granddaughter Gia; sisters -in law (Sandy and Norma) and brothers-in law (Bob and Gary); numerous nieces and a nephew, grand nieces, and grand nephews. His family takes great comfort in their Christian faith, knowing his spirit is finally at peace.\nVisitation will begin at noon on Saturday, August 12, at his longtime place of worship: Asbury Church, 6612 Creedmoor Rd. in Raleigh, to be followed by a celebration of life service at 1 PM.\nIn lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations, be made in Sal‘s name to the charity of your choice."}},"city":"Raleigh","county":"Wake","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"07/22/2023","age":79,"user_updated":true,"image":{"localFile":{"publicURL":"/static/8bbd07df3560e6ff4dceeb6ec170615f/object_Object_d63bbe8042.jpeg"}}}},{"node":{"id":"ba0f593b-49f0-54bf-a2a7-ae6d78395229","slug":"article-134","name":"Milwyda Lozada Chua","content":{"data":{"content":"Milwyda Lozada Chua, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on July 22, 2023, after a three-year battle with cancer.\n\nMilwyda was born in Manila, Philippines on April 8, 1954, to Segismundo Lozada and Aurea Adiao Lozada.
