Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Joseph A. Price, Sr., her parents Royce and Letha Rabon, and siblings, Edna Earl, Jim, and Dick. She is survived by her daughter Monica Bissett (Jay) of Holly Springs, son Joey Price (Vicky) and grandchildren Michael (Holly), Alyssa, Rabon, Brandon (Jessica), Jillian, Cole (Bailey) and Hunter (Zoe). Betty had nine great grandchildren, a sister Laura, as well as special nieces and nephews.\n\nBetty grew up in Winnabow, married and raised her children in Leland. As her grandchildren grew, she and Joe moved to Harrells where they continued to be involved in both church and community.  In their remaining years together, they restored a 1910 farmhouse while raising animals, planting huge vegetable and flower gardens; welcoming great grandchildren along the way.\n\nBetty was a well known and much appreciated staff member at Cape Fear Community College from 1970-2001.  Students, their parents, the faculty and administration knew just who to call for a prompt, accurate and gracious response.\n\nShe was an accomplished seamstress, avid reader and crossword puzzler. She was a strong person that consistently put family and friends’ needs before her own. Those who knew her will miss her quick wit and impeccable humor.\n\nA Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 12:30 pm, March 9th at the Town Creek Community Building, 6420 Ocean Hwy East, Winnabow, NC. She was born in Sampson County, North Carolina on August 12, 1935 to Jasper Dempsey Jackson and Florrie Elizabeth Marshburn Jackson.\n\nA graduate and lifelong supporter of Meredith College, Marjorie lived her whole life in North Carolina - Raleigh, Cary, Kinston, Andrews, and Wilkesboro - settling back in Raleigh over the last 3 years.  She served as Executive Officer of the Wilkes County Homebuilders Association and was a successful real estate broker and property manager.  She and husband Talmadge enjoyed western square dancing, storytelling events, spending time at the \"Little House\" on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and were avid NC State fans and football season ticket holders for 45 years.\n\nShe was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers James Wright (Elsie), Robert (Dale), Jackie (Anna), and Gene Jackson, as well as cherished nephews Glenn Wright Jackson and Don Jackson, and son-in-law Eddie Taylor.\n\nMarjorie is survived by her husband of 67 years, Talmadge Wiggins of the home, a daughter, Lisa Wiggins Taylor, and a son, Bryan Wiggins (Annette) both of Raleigh, and a granddaughter, Sarah Wiggins, of Stockholm, Sweden. She is also survived by her brother, William Blake Jackson (Debbie) of Spivey's Corner, sister-in-law Zelle Jackson of Oak Island, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.\n\nA memorial service will be held at 2:30 December 30, 2023 at Magnolia Glen Assisted Living (5301 Creedmoor Road, Raleigh, NC). She was a talented seamstress and an avid knitter/crocheter, and also had a fondness for designing homes with her late husband, Herbert J. Cherry.\n\nSuzanne is survived by two daughters, Gwen (Eric) Jurin of West Berlin, NJ and Gale (Jack) Koford of Buffalo, NY and one son, Evan (Judi Meinhalt) Cherry of Cary, NC.; five grandchildren - Kyle (Jenny) Cherry, Longmont, CO; Debra Jurin (Ronnie) Mull, Manahawkin, NJ; Douglas Jurin (fiancé Emily Chukusky), Deptford, NJ; Samuel Koford, Lexington, KY and Benjamin Koford, Towson, MD; and three great-grandchildren - Murphy and Autumn Cherry and Aurora Mull. Suzanne is further survived by two sisters – Pauline (Dick) Mosher, Colton, CA and Carolyn Salow, Erie, PA and a brother-in-law Art Hackenberg, Harborcreek, PA. Preceded in death were her parents, Harry and Betty Berger, and her husband Philip Carlisle, Sr.  Other surviving family members include her three children James Carlisle,  Philip Carlisle, Jr. and Kathy Carlisle along with their children and grandchildren.  \n\nSylvia was born and raised in New Jersey.   She was an avid ice skater and bowler and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.  Sylvia and her husband, Philip, moved to South Florida to raise their family.  During this time, Sylvia was employed with the Coral Springs Police Department.  Her position with the Police Department brought her great enjoyment and gave her multiple lifetime friends.  \n\nUpon retirement from the City, Sylvia moved to Murphy, NC where she began her Boyd's Bears business.  While there she also enjoyed quilting and card making. She loved the mountains and held very dear to her heart her life there. \n\nSylvia was an avid church member and volunteer in both Murphy, NC and Fuquay-Varina, NC. She enjoyed spending her time involved in various activities with her church.\n\nSylvia enjoyed talking to others, making people smile, and life.
