She was preceded in death by her daughter, Reem Elmasri and her brother, Tharwat Hennawi.  \nShe is survived by her two beloved daughters Yasmin (Ryan) and Maysa and four precious deeply loved grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Nabila Ebrahim, her brother, Raafat Hennawi and her husband, Sami Elmasri.  \n\nShe attended Alexandria, Egypt High School and the University of Alexandria Engineering School. After graduating, she worked as a Civil Engineer in the Egyptian Army.  \nIn 1987, she and her family immigrated to New Orleans, Louisiana and after two years moved to North Carolina where she and her family established as home. She also worked as a contracted linguist in Iraq with the United States Army for 6 years. She has enjoyed retirement with her family, especially her daughters and grandchildren.  She was strong in her faith and loved her Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her family & friends deeply and unconditionally. \n \nThe family wishes to thank her doctors and caregivers. She is deeply loved by those who knew her and will be very missed.\n\nIn lieu of flowers, the family requests considering a donation to Pretty in Pink Foundation, Caring Community Foundation, St. Jude, and/or the Komen Foundation. \n\nThe family will receive friends on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:30 am at St. Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church 3405 N New Hope Rd, Raleigh, NC 27604. He grew up in Matoaca, VA and attended Matoaca High School. Rusty spent his school breaks/summers on the NC coast, working on commercial shrimp boats, with family. He later pursued work in the Power Plant industry, commercial and residential construction, and commercial fishing.\nAn outdoor enthusiast, Rusty enjoyed the woods and rivers of Virginia, hunting and fishing at every opportunity, as both a youth and adult. As retirement approached, he decided to relocate to the NC coast, to the fishing communities he knew so well. Rusty reacquainted with old friends in the area, and quickly added more. He never met a stranger!\nIn recent months, Rusty was a patient in the ECU Health Duplin Hospital, where he was embraced and adopted by the Nurses and staff of the 2nd Floor North Nurses’ station. Those folks took excellent care of “Pap” - he loved and appreciated each one. \nSurvivors include his sisters, Rhonda, Donna and Linda of Virginia; Cousins Danny King (Wilmington, NC), Joni King Brooks (Emerald Isle, NC), and Susie King Langham (Jacksonville, NC); close friend Susan, and companion Miss Jo (Cape Carteret, NC.) He then started and managed an electronics test lab near Boston, MA, where he spent 30 years before retiring to Florida in 2002. He and his wife, Donna, enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, and volunteering at the Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park. Morris loved spending time at the park delivering educational programs about manatees to visitors from around the world.\n\nHe is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Huber); sons Mike Frank and his wife Maria of Londonderry, NH, and Roger Frank of Lompoc, CA; daughters Suzanne (Frank) Burke of Londonderry, NH, and Karen Celata and her husband Steven of Raleigh, NC; six grandchildren and brothers Don, Rick and Keith.
