She fell on Easter Day and suffered a major brain injury and received comfort care until she peacefully passed away.   Our family is grieving the loss of a loving Mother, Mother-in-law, grandmother and great grandmother.  \n\nMom was our guiding light and filled her family and those close to her with love and joy.   We celebrate her strength, elegance and wisdom and all the beautiful memories we have.  We will always remember her warmth and love as well as her sense of humor,  playfulness and laughter.     The essence of Mom will live on in our hearts forever.    \n\nWe will make arrangements for a burial service in Antigo, Wisconsin in May or June. A current resident of Franklinton, North Carolina, and Born on October 3rd, 1942, she lived a life full of love, laughter, and dedication to her family and community.\n\nMarilyn's professional journey was marked by three retirements, each representing a chapter of hard work and commitment. She retired from Reichhold Chemicals and then from Quintiles before dedicating her time to her cherished church, Woodland Baptist Church in Wake Forest, NC, where she retired just last year. Her dedication to her work and community exemplified her strong and resilient spirit.  \n\nIn addition to her remarkable career and adventurous spirit, Marilyn had a passion for reading, puzzles, and spending time at the beach. A woman of boundless energy and love, Marilyn was a constant presence at her grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's events, always with her signature smile and adorned with her favorite hats. She found joy in traveling with her family, making memories that will be cherished forever. Her love for travel took her to hot-air balloon festivals, where she found pure delight in the colorful skies above, and she even had the opportunity to ride in one, fulfilling a lifelong dream.\n\nMarilyn's generosity knew no bounds. She volunteered with the American Red Cross, serving meals after Hurricane Katrina, and was always volunteering with her church missions team, ready to lend a helping hand wherever needed.\n\nMarilyn will be deeply missed by her siblings, Jerry Boger (Sandra), and Betsy Boger Safrit (Bobby); her children, Donna Basinger Gardner (Gene), Lewis Basinger (Jessica), James York, and Darrell Basinger (Ashby); her nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was born November 23, 1947, in Washington, D.C., where she also completed her elementary and secondary education.\n\nHer career started at the Library of Congress as a typesetter. She continued in this profession at the Department of Agriculture, The Army-Navy Times and The Washington Star before becoming the co-owner of Lloyd's CompuType from 1975 to 1982. She went on to work at CLB Printing Co. and Frank Gordon Printing Co.\n\nLavonne married James Edward Lloyd, Jr., in 1965 and had two children from that union, Darryl and Traci before divorcing in the early nineties. Later in life, Lavonne cherished her role as grandma and Nana to her three grandchildren. \n\nIn 2007, Lavonne relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina with her daughter Traci, where she loved nurturing and caring for her grandson, as well as children of neighboring families. She lived a quiet life as an avid reader and enjoyed stimulating her mind with puzzles and word games. Even as her health declined, Lavonne Lloyd faced challenges with quiet strength and grace.\n\nLavonne was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 2 sisters. Goddin and much-loved son-in-law, Will Goddin, her grandchildren Calista, Cole, Lucas and Maggie Goddin of Cary, North Carolina, and Aly Manzoni-Darpino of North Easton, MA, as well as many Nolan, Jones, and Battle cousins.   Kathleen is predeceased by her son, Andrew Louis Boisvert and her sister-in-law, Suzanne Lambert Corrigan.  \n\nKathleen was a teacher who overcame dyslexia to attend Dean Junior College, Boston University and completed her Masters Degree at Rhode Island College.  Teaching was her passion and throughout her teaching career taught children with different learning abilities to meet their potential.  Kathleen was a life-long learner, was a talented watercolor artist, enjoyed reading, travel and all types of handicrafts.  \n\nShe was a proud grandmother, often attending school events and educational conferences.  She was a Quaker and understood the value of peace, looking for the light in all individuals but also speaking truth to power when faced with political or cultural issues. Hundreds of its graduates have become highly qualified specialists and work in various companies in the UK, Ireland, Scotland, USA, Canada, Australia, and teach English at universities and colleges in Europe and Ukraine. For her conscientious long-term work and the introduction of innovative technologies in the process of teaching foreign languages to schoolchildren, Lyudmila Gritsenko was awarded the honorary title “Honored Teacher of Ukraine.” \n\nLyudmila is the mother you can only dream of. She was amazingly modest, wise, amazingly tactful. A true keeper of the family hearth. She always gave light, her love and kindness. Mom has always been our Guardian Angel, a model of virtue for everyone. Those we love never leave us. Peter was welcomed into eternal rest by his loving wife who passed away on July 4, 2015, Mamie Passantino along with his parents, Peter Passantino and Anna Gurcia, granddaughter Michaelina Passantino and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. \n\nHe was born in Brooklyn N.Y. and the oldest of three children. Peter is survived by his son, Peter J. Passantino and wife Michele, daughter, Dawn Dolan and husband James, four grandchildren, Joshua Dolan, Anthony Dolan, Jason Dolan and Jacqueline Passantino along with three great-grandchildren, Nicolas Dolan, Elliott Dolan and Finley Dolan. Peter is also survived by his Sister MaryAnn Scarpati and her husband Joseph, his brother John Passantino and his wife Mindy along with numerous nieces and nephews.\n\nPeter was a paper handler like his father and uncles working for the NY Times, the NY Post and the American Banknote Company. In his retirement he became a resident of North Carolina where his hobbies including woodworking, music and painting which he still enjoyed during his last weeks. His biggest joy was spending time with his family and friends enjoying good company and conversation.\n\nPeter’s life will be celebrated on April 1, 2024 with a small gathering of family and friends.
