Mary Ann was born in Flushing NY and at the age of 10 moved to Bethpage Long Island NY. There she meet her future husband Thomas Thurmbuchler. They were childhood sweethearts and married in 1972. They were happily married for 52 years. Chris will be remembered as a great human being and citizen, whose family and friends always said that he never said  a bad word about anyone. Chris, his brother Jeff, and granddaughter, Celene, always made sure that their parents and grandparents were always all right, they took them to doctor appointments, shopped for them and gave them lots of love. \nChris and Jeff were more than brothers, they were best friends. From their early years playing in the backyard to navigating the complexities of adolescence, Chris had always been there for Jeff, with a smile that could melt any worry away. Chris had not only filled the role of Jeff’s elder brother, but also served as his guiding light and role model in every aspect of life. Christopher’s brotherly guidance, kindness, and love will never be lost, and will always be ingrained in our lives and teachings within our lives.             \nChris loved playing the trumpet during the years he was in fifth and sixth grades.\nChris loved science. During his seventh grade he won the best award for his project about the solar system. \nIn his tenth grade Chris and a fellow student won best award for demonstrating their “Jacob’s Ladder” (two metal wires standing straight up, side by side, in which the electrical current jumps while moving up to the top, framing steps to the ladder) and their most recent experiments with lasers to make “holograms.” They spent their free time working on those projects in the electronics room after school. \nChris graduated from Guilderland Central High School at Guilderland, New York, with Major sequences in Mathematics, Science, and Second Language. He was a member of the school track team. \nHe graduated from Siena College, located in Loudonville, New York, with a Bachelor Degree of Arts, on May 21, 1995. He was a member of the college school government. He received an award for the best freshman academic student. \nChris was always interested in the workings of government. During his summers he worked with the New York Department of Transportation Office of Contracts. He also worked as an assistant for a New York State Senator. Christopher’s last employment was as an auditor for Blue Cross and Blue Shield.\nChris loved the New York Mets baseball team and enjoyed watching all New York sports teams. Chris enjoyed collecting sports cards and video game characters. She possessed a heart of compassion and always extended help to those in need. \n\nShe was preceded in death by her father, Rayburn Cecil Alexander, her mother, Agnes Josephine Alexander, her sister, Jackie  Eaton, and her sister, Toni Johnson. She is survived by her husband, Paul Waldecker, her daughter, Kelly (Danny) Nahra  and her granddaughters, Suzanne (Brandon) Morse  and Selena Nahra (Kraig GIbson) . She is survived by her brother, Butch (Barbara)) Parker. Dearest aunt of Tina Eaton, Danielle Pilchak and Billy (William)Parker.\n\nA private celebration of life will be held on June 21st, 2024 which would’ve been her 72nd birthday. \n\nShe fought a long and hard battle with cancer on four separate occasions, which ultimately led to her passing. She is preceded in death by Carson Bert Knott, husband of 37 years and father to their children and her second husband James E Parkin of Carteret County. \n\nJeanette was born on June 24, 1937, in Harnett County to Willard and Laurine Pleasant. She graduated from Angier High School in 1955. She married Carson Bert Knott, her high school sweetheart from Linden on January 28th, 1956. Bert served in the United States Army Reserve from Oct 1956 to June 2, 1959. The couple, as Golf Pro and wife and their growing family were welcomed into golfing communities in Raleigh, Zebulon, Scotland Neck/Enfield, Roanoke Rapids and Pinetops. She leaves behind the legacy of four children, eight grandchildren, six great grandchildren.  With the addition of two grandchildren and four great grandchildren in Scotland through her daughter’s second marriage.  \n\nHer children remember her as a creative, inventive, and energetic mother. The children spent hours at her bedside on the day she passed, recounting many childhood stories, recalling summers at the beach and the many special ways she made their lives memorable.  She passed peacefully after the last story was shared.   \n\nJeanette was an artist and creative soul and often indulged in gardening, painting, ceramics, reading, decorating, sales and socializing. She was a generous and witty individual who loved having fun and who was skilled at sales and “just about anything she put her hand to.”  She was fiercely independent and lived by her own rules. For the last 25 years of her life, her constant companion and buddy was Fred, a feral female cat who adopted her and became an iconic part of her life.   \n\nA private service will be held at City of Oaks Cremation.  Elaine Tola will officiate the ceremony. Please contact the family for service information.. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jeanette’s life. Later, Brigitta moved to Bonn where she worked as a secretary for the German Department of Defense.  \n\nBrigitta first came to the United States in 1963. She traveled between the US and Germany before eventually meeting her husband in Washington, DC. Brigitta and Louis Wayne were married June 9, 1968, and ultimately settled in Raleigh, NC where Brigitta finished her career working for the law firm Poyner Spruill.  \n\nBrigitta was very proud of her involvement in the National Coalition on Mental Health and Aging, and served a term as president of the Raleigh chapter.  In later years, Brigitta spent the “happiest part of her day” at the Millbrook Dog Park with the special friends she made there- both two and four legged.\n\nBrigitta will be missed by friends and relatives in America and in Germany.
