He was the epitome of joy, kindness, resilience, compassion, intelligence, and fun. Brij loved everyone he met and was able to bring out the best in anyone. He, in turn, was loved by anyone who had the pleasure to meet and know him. His smile immediately made you feel better, and his laugh was more than infectious. Brij loved to have fun and throwing epic parties was his favorite. He could not get enough of his friends and family and cared for them so deeply and fiercely. He also loved the beach, baseball, Harry Potter, Minecraft, pool shenanigans, and Nerf battles. We could not have asked for a better son and he made us so, so very proud.\n\nBrij was the strongest fighter in his battle against cancer. He was a true warrior and his resilience in those difficult times was astounding. Despite everything he endured he remained kind, polite, well mannered, and continued to think of others first. To be able to do so at 9 years old is an incredible testament to his character. \n\nBrij will be missed forever. He will be loved and carried in our hearts for an eternity. Per his wishes, we will take him with us everywhere we go.\n\nWe are creating an endowment fund in Brij’s name at one of his favorite places, Triangle Day School. In lieu of flowers please feel free to make donations to the Brij Spangler Memorial Endowment Fund here: https://go.triangledayschool.org/brij-fund\n\nBrij did not wish to have a funeral or memorial service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.\n\n“But know this: the ones that love us never really leave us.”\n-Sirius Black, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkeban"}},"city":"Durham","county":"Durham","state":"North Carolina","deathdate":"07/14/2024","age":9,"user_updated":true,"image":{"localFile":{"publicURL":"/static/522aca2d04a6b0a295e486235e9a5d40/Untitled_a4cdad8011.jpeg"}}}},{"node":{"id":"53ebe782-c1c8-5d20-9045-78d18dda010d","slug":"article-440","name":"Marianne O'Neill","content":{"data":{"content":"Mrs. Marianne C.
