As well numerous family and friends.\nJeffrey left this world far too soon.  His lasting legacy will be the most important to him, his children, they meant everything to him.\nHe was a lifelong die hard NC State Wolfpack fan.  An avid fisherman who often preferred the solitude of the woods and lakes he visited.  He was a friend to all the furry pets in his life and enjoyed his hobbies.  He had a green thumb and could grow most anything, always a curious mind he found new adventures and activities to pursue or just tinker with.  He was also a very talented artist with his drawings and paintings.\nJeffrey was a kind, loving and gentle soul. The family will greet visitors from 12:00 Noon until 12:45pm, and a funeral Mass will follow at 1:00pm. Gross","content":{"data":{"content":"Irvin Jerold Gross (Jerry), 84\n\nBorn in Richmond, Virginia, in 1940, Jerry passed away peacefully at home in Raleigh, North Carolina, on Saturday, September 7. \n\nJerry was the son of William Gross and Hortense Watskey. He graduated in 1959 from Douglas Southall Freeman High School and went on to earn his business degree from the University of Georgia, where he became a lifelong fan of Bulldog football. Fittingly, on the day of his passing, UGA clobbered their football opponent, a victory that would have made him extremely happy. Immediately after college, he served in the U.S. Coast Guard.\n\nJerry’s family was the center of his world. He is survived by brothers, Kenneth Phillip Gross (Patricia), Michael (Rusty) J. Gross, and his loving wife of 50 years, Sally Wade Gross. In addition, he leaves behind his children: Traci Shuster, Kathi Newman, and Andy Gross (Abigail) from his marriage to Sue Arenstein; and Mary Taylor (Brian) and Franklin Gross from his marriage to Sally. His ten grandchildren—Emerson, Aidan, Alexa, and Eric Shuster; Ella, Maryn, and Benjamin Newman; Hannah, Charis, and Elijah Taylor—were his pride and joy. No conversation with Jerry went by without him mentioning them, and he treasured every moment spent with family, especially at their cabin, the Boxed Inn, in Waynesville, North Carolina.\n\nJerry’s professional career began with BEST Products in Richmond, Virginia, a path that led him to Texas and eventually to South Florida. Later, alongside his wife Sally, he opened and operated Boca Box Company, a retail packaging business, for 16 years.\n\nOutside of work, Jerry enjoyed garage sales and flea markets - and was always on the hunt for hidden treasures or a good bargain. She attended the public schools of Pulaski County, Arkansas and moved to North Carolina in 1979.  She married Larry Zimmerman on December 30, 1984, in Dillon, South Carolina. \n\nShe worked as a banking professional for Paragon Commercial Bank for nearly 20 years. Starting as a courier, working her way through the ranks of Client Development Coordinator and eventually to Lead Loan Operations Specialist.  Cindy was a punctual, reliable, and dedicated employee often going in early and staying late to ensure smooth operations. She retired from Paragon in 2018 to enjoy more time with her friends and family whom she cherished.  She was an avid reader and loved to spend time outdoors in her flower gardens, relaxing on the beach, hiking and visiting the city parks and museums.  Cindy was a bright light to many.\n\nShe is preceded in death by parents, Joe Rowan and Rose Marie Breece, brother, Joe Breece and sister, Sandra Najera.  \n\nCindy is survived by husband, Larry Zimmerman, children, Michael Pilcher, Angela Keith (Travis), siblings, Kathie Blackley (Doug), David Breece (Janet), grandchildren Michael Wicker, Hunter Keith and Connor Keith, her cat, Charlie Girl and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends who all loved her dearly.\n\nThe family would like to send their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the many nurses and staff with Heartland Hospice and UNC Rex Hospital who cared for Cindy during her final days. She graduated from Ithaca High School in 1952. In 1963, she married John Yunker, and they lived for many years in Dryden, NY, where they raised two children. During this time, Beverly worked as a Building Manager of Uris Hall at Cornell University.\n\nBeverly had a lifelong fascination with archaeology, particularly ancient Egypt, sparked by the 1977 Tutankhamun exhibit she attended in Chicago. She fulfilled her dream of visiting the pyramids on a Nile River tour in 2008. She also held a lasting love for classical music and golden-era Hollywood films and movie stars.\n\nShe is survived by her loving children, son David (Elisa Weber) Yunker; daughter Susan (David) Meyer; her granddaughters Bonnie (Kevin) Goslen and Sara Meyer; her nephew Rob (Nadine) Bernard, and their sons Jaron and Kiefer. Beverly was predeceased by her parents, Norman and Mae Bremer, and her sister, Arden Bremer.\n\nBeverly will be fondly remembered for her kind and helpful nature, her love of all things blue, and her legendary chocolate pie. Her granddaughters will always cherish the memory of going to her apartment every Christmas Eve to bake cookies with their grandmother and open the stockings she had so lovingly filled for them.\n\nAt Beverly’s request, no funeral service will be held. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Fredrick Huhn II (Walt), whom she married in 1977 and spent 47 years together before his death.\n\nSally is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Shelby and Scott Thomas; grandsons, Payton, Sam and Hunter Thomas of Four Oaks, NC.  She is also survived by her brothers and sister, James Cope Jr. of Clayton GA; Edward Cope (Beth), Debbie Hosey (John), and Neal Cope (Becky) of Savannah, GA.\n\nSally graduated from H.V. Jenkins High School of Savannah, GA and Weslyn College in Macon, GA. Sally absolutely loved working with children as the Aquatics Director for the Jewish Community Center in Atlanta before moving back to Savannah and marrying Walt and welcoming Shelby. They moved to Charlotte, NC in 1979 and resided there for 43 years and where they took frequent trips to Savannah and Fripp Island to spend time with family and friends.  For years, while in Charlotte, Sally and Walt were devoted members of Sovereign Grace Church. Sally's strong Christian faith led her to help others throughout her life- after retirement she enjoyed volunteer work at the Matthews Help Center, the Carrington House and making memories with her grandchildren.\n\nA Memorial Service will be held on October 12, 2024 at Southbridge Fellowship 12621 Strickland Rd., Raleigh, NC at 11:00 am.  The Family will receive friends for visitation from 10:15 am-10:45 am, prior to the service at the church. She was chosen to become an educator as part of the horses and equitation program at Meredith College. After the riding program ended, she continued her equestrian career teaching her students dressage and raising and training thoroughbred horses. She was a skilled dressage and combined training equestrian and accomplished three-day event rider. Crista served a five year term as a North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine board member. Crista is survived by her husband Mark Gardner of Raleigh, NC, sister Dell Laney of Huntersville, NC, sister Meg K. Bell and her husband Walter of Monroe, NC, brother John Pritchard Jr. and Robin of Charlotte, NC, brother-in-law Matthew Gardner of Raleigh, NC, sister-in-law Lisa G. Maune and her husband Nathan of Raleigh, NC, dear nephews and special friends considered family around the country. Debra loved to DJ to music on the internet, and make friends while chatting.  She loved her little chihuahua, Butterball.  She will be missed by us all.
