Born on February 4, 1937, in Oceana, West Virginia, Betty was raised by her grandmother, whose guidance shaped the strength and resilience that defined her life. Throughout her years, Betty dedicated herself to others, volunteering at school events, serving in nursing homes, and providing private caregiving to those in need.
Betty found lasting comfort in the Book of Psalms, which served as her anchor through every season of life. She lived with humility and grace, holding close the promise of Psalm 73:24, trusting she would be received into God’s glory.
She was the proud and loving mother of three daughters: Toni (Andy), Kelly (Todd), and Susan (Michael). Her daughters were the center of her world, and she devoted her life to nurturing them with unconditional love and steadfast faith.
Betty lived simply but loved deeply, believing in kindness and trusting in God’s plan. Those who knew her will remember her calm presence and unwavering devotion to her family. In her passing, we find peace in the assurance of Psalm 121:8: “The Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.”
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Ford, and her brothers, Bernard and Jack.
She is survived by her sister, Arbutus Brown and
her daughters, Toni, Kelly, and Susan; her cherished grandchildren, Jacob Silversides, Kristal Prichard, Amber Salisbury, Misty Zieminski, Colton Owczarzak, Wyatt Owczarzak, Anthony DeLorenzo, and Jessica Ford; her beloved great-grandchildren, Gavin Silversides, Mercede Stein, Joshua Prichard, Taylor Prichard, Autumn Gardner, Clayton Parry, Robert Zieminski, Morgan Zieminski, Raelynn Zieminski, and Remington Fairfield.
Betty’s life was a beautiful testament to faith, love, and perseverance. While she will be profoundly missed, her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she loved and the values she so faithfully carried.

City of Oaks Funeral Home and Cremation provides an affordable cremation with a private family viewing. A private family viewing allows up to 10 immediate family members or friends to spend time with a loved one when a public visitation is not preferred.

An immediate burial has the same end result as a traditional burial; however, we have eliminated the extra (sometimes unnecessary) services prior to getting to the cemetery. Not everyone wants an open casket for viewing or a limousine for the family. Despite the term immediate, we can move as fast as you need or as slow as you like. This option simply allows you to save money by eliminating some of the fancy extras at the funeral home.

You might consider a traditional funeral service if your family is looking for an open casket visitation, a traditional church service or a funeral service in the funeral home's chapel.
